The event is located just 30 miles west of downtown Minneapolis at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve. Rebecca Park, part of the Three Rivers Park District, provides a beautiful backdrop for a great day of racing and spectating. WE WELCOME ALL ABILITIES TO JOIN US (although please note a 3 1/2-hour cut-off time for your safety and our volunteers). New to the sport? Check out team participation. Participating with friends is a great way to introduce yourself to a triathlon if you are new or desire to get back in shape!

Start Time: Olympic: 8:00 am. Sprint to follow Olympic start
Olympic Triathlon: .75mi Swim - 25mi Bike - 6.2mi Run
Sprint Triathlon: .3mi Swim - 16mi Bike - 3.1mi Run
TEAMS for Olympic: Two and Three-member teams are encouraged!
Aqua Bike: .75mi Swim - 25mi Bike and then you are DONE!
Max Participants: 500
Participants will start the swim using a time trial start sending two persons every 5 seconds. We are asking all racers to self-seed according to their swim ability with the Elite Racers starting first. (Elite wave will close after 25 entrants in both the Olympic and Sprint).

Cancellations:
Race fees are nonrefundable in cash, BUT, upon sickness or breaking a leg, participants may receive either: 1) 1/2 cost of entry to next year's race or 2) 100% refund in the form of a GW gift certificate

No event switches on race day.
Nutrition: Please bring your own nutrition on the bike course, if needed. Run and transition areas will offer both water and Power Bar replacement drink + gel

A bit more information: The event location and transition area are on an open grassy knoll next to the parking lot of Lake Rebecca Regional Park.
The swim event starts down the hill from the transition area. The swim is a one loop rectangle course. Wetsuits are allowed (and encouraged). Participants will swim in a clockwise direction keeping all buoys to their right. Buoys will mark the course and there will be a lead kayak as well as boat and lifeguard support along the way. All participants must wear the provided swim cap during the swim portion. The swim will be a time trial start with two swimmers starting every 5 seconds. We are asking swimmers to seed themselves according to their swim talent. All elite participants will start first, also using the time trial start. Racers will exit the water after the loop and navigate a set of stairs and 150 yards of soft grass to the transition area. Our cheerful announcer, Jerry McNeil will encourage the racers into the bike transition area.
The bike course is scenic and fun. You leave the park, bike through Delano, and south on 17. Olympic racers take a RIGHT (west) turn on CR6 (CR20) and enter into the Watertown roundabouts. Racers will then head back towards Delano on Cty Rd 16 which parallels the Crow River. The bike course takes a right on Cty Rd 30, rides the shoulder of HWy12, and takes a right again into an industrial park (a small loop) that delivers the biker back north to Rebecca Park. The 25 course is ONE loop + a tail.
The Sprint bike course follows the Olympic but is an 8 mile out with a turn-around and an 8 mile back to Rebecca Park.
The Olympic run is a one loop course around Lake Rebecca, on a beautiful, rather shady rolling run course. Water stops will be roughly every two miles offering water, nutrition drinks and gel. The sprint course will be an out and back on the same trail as the Olympic.
Race Awards & Finisher Medals:
Tri West Triathlon finishers in both the Olympic and Sprint courses will receive cotton finisher t-shirts! Awards are offered for the top three male and female participants in each five-year age category, excluding the overall winner. The top overall male and female athletes, and the top relay team will also receive awards. The top two men's and women's Aqua Bike finishers will receive GW gift certificates. The Award ceremony will begin between 11:30 and 12:00 pm. Elite wave athletes are eligible only for the overall award.
